Terraced fields are an interesting tourist destination can not be ignored by domestic and international tourists when they have the opportunity to come to the Northwest of Vietnam.
Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Giang - Quan Ba (L,D)
06:00 : Get picked up by out tour guide at your hotel and the depart Ha Giang. On the way to Ha Giang, we drive to Hoang Su Phi - a hilly and mountainous area near Vietnam-China border. This is wonderful area with nice terraced rice filds.
Have enroute lunch on the way upon arrival in Ha Giang. Then drive to Quan Ba, visit Quan Ba Heaven Gate lying about 1,500m above sea level, and in 1939, the French built a stone wall and a wooden gate to block the pass, in order to prevent access to the Dong Van plateau and beyond.
Check in to hotel and have dinner at 18:30. Stay overnight in Quan Ba.
Day 2: Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Dong Van - Meo Vac (B, L, D)
After breakfast in hotel, drive to Yen Minh. Stop on the road side with pine forest for photo. Lunch on the way.
13:30 Stop at Lung Cu Flag (also called the roof of the country) - the northernmost point ad the highest latitude of Vietnam, overlooking Great China land.
. The trip also take us to the Mansion of King Vuong Chi Sinh, a unique architecture of the uplands with 64-room mansion. You have to climb up a series of stone steps sandwiched in between old pine trees leading to the mansion’s entrance of a small wooden gate set into a round stone wall.
16:00 Continue the trip with drive to Dong Van and Meo Vac, And this part of the tour is what impress you the most when you are crossing the Ma Pi Leng Pass. You will have a breath-taking view of Ma Pi Leng canyon 800m deep and the Nho Que River. It seem you are on the edge of heaven and earth.
17:00 Arrive in Meo Vac Town. Meo Vac is inhabited by different ethnic minorities including the H’mong, the King, Tay, Dzao…Most ethnic groups have maintained their culture untouched from the outside world. Overnight stay in Meo Vac home stay
Day 3: Meo Vac - Cao Bang Town (B, L, D)
07:00 Have breakfast. Travel along the roads of Meo Vac - Bao Lam - Nguyen Binh to reach Cao Bang Province. Stop enroute for lunch and photo hunting.
17:00 Check in to hotel in Cao Bang Town. Have dinner and experience a night in Cao Bang at your own pace. Overnight in hotel in Cao Bang City
Day 4: Ban Gioc Waterfall - Ba Be (B, L, D)
07:00 Have breakfast then depart to Ban Gioc Waterfall, which is 90 km away from Cao Bang Town. The waterfall falls thirty meters. It is separated into three falls by rocks and trees, and the thundering effect of the water hitting the cliffs can be heard kilometers away. The sight in Ban Gioc Waterfall bears a poetic, fresh, quiet beauty of water, forest and cloud area mixed with village atmosphere of mountainous ethnic minorities. Have lunch in Ban Gioc. Day 5: Discovery of Ba Be Lake (B/L/D)
09:00 Arrive at Bo Lu Wharf to start boat-trip along the Nang River discovering Ba Be Lake, one of 20 biggest fresh lakes on the mountain in the world.
10:00 Stop at Puong cave which is home to millions of bats. Get back to our boat and go along the river again to Dau Dang waterfall - the small fall but nice and worth to visit. Have lunch in a real local restaurant on the riverside. Continue the boat trip to enjoy a swim in fresh, clear water near Ba Goa Islet
16:00 Trek back to your homestay (1km) in Pac Ngoi village, a small village of Tay people. Check in the Ba Be Lake homestay
18:30 Dinner in homestay. After that you have a chance to watch traditional Tay musical performance (excluded - optional). You can share the show with other tourists. Homestay overnight in Ba Be.
Day 6: Ba Be - Hanoi (B/L)
07:00 Enjoy breakfast in homestay with tea, coffe included. Then preapare and pack your lugguae to check out. Say goodbye to the host and leave homestay. On the way, You visit Hua Ma Cave which features thousands of stalactites and columns and shot some pictures of peaceful surroundings.
