Located 130km south of Hanoi, Cuc Phuong National Park is an important nature reserve and ecosystem with peaks of over 600 meters and valleys of subtropical rainforest. The park is home to more than 300 bird species. It is a very good place to do a side trip from Hanoi for Bird Watching.
These are some kinds of birds you can find at Cuc Phuong National Park (see bird kind): Chestnut-necklaced Partridge, Silver Pheasant, Grey Peacock Pheasant, Red-collared Woodpecker, Red-vented Barbet, Brown Hornbill, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Pied Falconet, Malayan Night Heron, Bar-bellied Pitta, Eared Pitta, Blue-rumped Pitta, Rachet-tailed Treepie, White-winged Magpie, White-tailed Flycatcher, Spotted Forktail, Limestone Wren Babbler, Rufous-throated Fulvetta and Black-browed Fulvetta.
Day 1: Hanoi - Cuc Phuong National Park (L,D)
8:00 Meet tour guide and car of Paradise Indochina Travel then drive to Cuc Phuong National Park (130km south of Hanoi). Visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. Check in the Guest House inside the park. Have Lunch there.
In the afternoon we observe the birds gathering in the Botanical Garden and in the lush rain forest. Dinner and relax.
Day 2: Cuc Phuong National Park - Bird watching (B,L,D)
Spend another day bird watching. Drive 20km through the rain forest to the Bong Station, then follow a circular route viewing a variety of endangered bird species. The 6-km trail passes through a wood of giant trees, some of which are over 1000 years old. Return to the guesthouse in late afternoon. Dinner, relax and overnight inside the park.
Day 3: Cuc Phuong - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Hanoi (B,L)
After breakfast, we drive to Hoa Lu Ancient Citadel with King Dinh Temple dating back to the 10th Century history. Then continue to Tam Coc. Take 2 hour boat trip along Ngo Dong River to visit the “preserving nature area” with Karst landscape and land under the water. Lunch in restaurant near by and go back to Hanoi.
16:30 Arrive back in Hanoi. Tour ends!
